The inspiration for this work was based on famous pigs that have defied being fenced-in by the boundaries of the farm. Some examples include: Porky Pig, Arnold from Green Acres, Wilbur from Charlotte's Web, and Babe the Hollywood sweetheart. These inspirational images were created by students aged 10-14 in relief prints using acid-free paper and black ink. The images were then applied to the pig using a collage method. Kathy also had the Olympic Ceramic school create a wonderful copper and ceramic garland for the pig's neck.
