Vintage sepia portraits cover this historical pig. Dressed in a fine collar and cuffs, she “hams” it up for the camera. The viewer is immediately drawn to and lingers over the different images depicting the bygone eras. This work also references Seattle’s historic Pioneer Square neighborhood.
AJ works with vintage photographs. For this project she used photographs from her own collection and additional photographs obtained from antique stores. They are scanned and printed, so that the photographs are of a consistence texture. Each photograph is only used once and there are over 200 photos on this pig.
