Reflection on Sound
The Seattle sky filled with color, clouds, birds, rain and sunshine inspired this pig design. Elaine's techniques include using heavy-duty commercial grade glue and affixing hand-glazed tiles. She then applied sanded grout mixed with a strengthener and finished by sealing with silicone. The result is an exquisite mosaic of vibrant colors.
Elaine lives on Vashon Island. Her design was inspired by ferry travels to and from the city. She is also a songwriter and musician and incorporates musical elements such as melody and rhythm in her art.
